A convoy of Pakistani forces was attacked in the Kolwah area of Balochistan’s Kech district on Sunday — Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to reports, the Pakistani forces’ convoy came under intense attack by armed men in Kolwah. As a result of the attack, two soldiers, including a Major rank officer named Saqib Hussain of the Pakistan Army was killed while two others were wounded.

After the incident, a heavy contingent of Pakistani forces reached the spot and launched a search operation in the area, while the injured troops were immediately shifted to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the deaths of 31-year-old Major Saqib, a resident of the Sanghar district of Sindh, and 26-year-old Naik Baqir Ali who was a resident of Dadu district of Sindh.

A pro-independence Baloch armed group, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) took responsibility for the attack in a press release on Monday.

BLF spokesman Mjr Gwahram Baloch said that their fighters attacked a convoy of seven motorcycles of the Pakistan army in Kolwah. “The front two motorcycles in the convoy came under heavy attack, while the rear motorcycles were also targeted, killing six personnel including a Major on the spot and injuring several others,” he added.

BLF spokesperson also said that the video of the attack will be released soon to the media.

Similarly, in another press release, the group claimed responsibility for a hand grenade attack on Pakistani forces on Sunday in Jusak, an adjacent town to Turbat city.
