Armed men captured a checkpoint of Levies forces in the Kech district of Balochistan on Tuesday – The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) accepted responsibility for the attack.
According to reports, a large number of gunmen surrounded a checkpoint of the Levies forces and captured the Levies personnel in the Buleda area of Kech and took away their weapons.
The gunmen set the outpost on fire and released the arrested Levies offcials while fleeing the scene. “The attackers did not harm the officials and later released them,” sources said.
Later, a pro-independence armed group, BLA accepted responsibility for the attack in a press release.
According to local sources, the checkpoint was allegedly set up by the Levies to extort money from vehicles associated with border trading. The extortion money is then divided between the district high-ups, sources said.
It should be mentioned that the Pakistan Army and other forces have been accused of extorting money from vehicles associated with border trading business in the Kech district and other bordering areas of Balochistan.
The “token” method has been introduced for oil and other business vehicles on the border, in which the price of a token is up to 6 00,000, while the high-ranked officers of the Pakistan Army have been accused of getting financial benefits from the sale of these tokens.
The Pakistan Army has also been accused of taking money from people associated with the coal business in Harnai and its surrounding areas, as well as the army is also blamed for extorting money from coal mines and carrier vehicles for providing them security.
