Western Balochistan: Twelve Baloch prisoners including a woman were hanged to death in the Last 72 hours by Iranian authorities.

According to reports, the Iranian courts sentenced death to twelve Baloch prisoners including a woman in the last 72 hours. These executions have taken place in Western (Iranian-administrated) Balochistan’s cities of Zahedan, Iranshar, Bandar Abbas, Zabul, Yazd, and Mashad.

As per sources, six Baloch prisoners including a woman were hanged in Zahedan and Iranshar, one in Birjand Zabul, one in Wakeelabad Mashad, two in Bandar Abbas, and two others in Minab and Yazd were hanged to death by orders of Iranian courts allegedly under drugs and murder related charges.

The identities of the six Baloch prisoners including the woman executed in Zahedan and Iranshar have been ascertained as Madina Sabzwan daughter of Ghulam Muhammad Shabek, resident of Sherabad Zahedan, Abdul Sattar Shahozai son of Akbar, Nehmatullah Regi known as Abdul Hamid Rodeni, Eid Muhammad Shadman S/O Jumma, Gul Muhammad Naroi S/O Mohabbat, and Mahmood Rahmani.

The aforementioned executed prisoners were allegedly charged with murder and drug dealing crimes.

Similarly, another Baloch prisoner was executed in Birjand Zabul who has been identified as Muhammad Shabek S/O Saeed, a resident of Kareemabad Zahedan. The man was executed under drugs-related charges.

Moreover, another man hanged to death in Mashad has been identified as Amin Ullah. Deceased Amin Ullah along with his wife was taken into custody on 8th July 2020. An Iranian court sentenced Amin Ullah’s wife to 10 years of imprisonment while he himself was hanged to death last week.

In another development, an Iranian court in Western Balochistan’s coastal city of Bandar Abbas sentenced death to two Baloch prisoners allegedly under drug-related offenses.

The executed Baloch prisoners have been identified as Mussa Gorgej S/O Hussain, and Ehsaan Goegej S/O Syed Khan — Both of them were residents of Zahedan. Both of the prisoners were arrested in Bandar Abbas in 2019 under drugs-related charges.

In the same manner, two other Baloch prisoners were hanged to death in Minab and Yazd. The identities of the two executed Baloch prisoners have been ascertained as Lal Muhammad and 34-year-old Ameer Ramishk S/O Raza, a resident of Kerman.

It is pertinent to mention that only in the last 72 hours twelve executions of Baloch prisoners have taken place in different parts of Iran. The sudden rise in the death sentences of Baloch prisoners makes it an alarming issue and it raises serious concerns.
