A young Baloch man reportedly went missing from the Turbat area of Balochistan’s Kech district, while one missing person was released after nine months of detention.

According to reports, a man named Habib Badeni, who had allegedly gone missing nine months ago from the Noshki district, has safely returned home. The details of his release are yet to be confirmed.

While a missing person has reappeared, the enforced disappearances of Baloch people, especially the youth, continue on an almost daily basis. On Monday night, the Pakistani security forces allegedly detained a man and moved him to an unknown location.

According to details, Pakistani forces allegedly raided a shop in the Absar area of Turbat city and detained a man named Tahir s/o Ustad Aziz.

A similar incident of ‘forced abduction’ was also reported on Monday from Karachi, where Pakistani forces allegedly detained a man named Korjo during a raid on a house in the Goth Mallir area.

‘Enforced disappearances’ remain a major concern in Balochistan. Human rights organizations report that hundreds of people, mostly political activists and students, have been illegally detained in Balochistan over the past decade. Many of these individuals are believed to have been taken into custody by state security forces, who deny involvement. The families of the disappeared have been protesting and demanding justice for their loved ones, but the issue remains unresolved.
