Students of Turbat University on Saturday held a protest rally against the lack of basic facilities in Turbat city, the 2nd largest city in Balochistan.
According to details, Students carried out a rally from the Turbat University to D-Baloch Highway and blocked the highway demanding electricity, water, internet, and other basic facilities.
During the protest, the students raised slogans against the administration and said that Turbat university lacks facilities despite getting funds.
Students from different districts of Balochistan are studying at Turbat University, where thousands of Baloch people from remote and backward areas enroll here with the hope, aspiration, and passion to get a better education so that they can play a better role for their nation and region in the future, protesting students said.
“Students are being deprived of basic facilities and educational rights due to which they are facing various problems,” protesters said. The students further said that due to the lack of electricity for the last several days, there is a shortage of water and other facilities in the hostels, which is severely affecting the students.
According to the students, the university administration is not serious about resolving the problems and the examinations are also on our heads.
They appealed to the higher authorities should take immediate notice of the issue.
