The Pakistani security forces were targeted in separate attacks in the Kech district, causing multiple casualties. Baloch “pro-independence” groups have claimed responsibility for the attacks.
According to reports, unknown persons fired several shells on the checkpoints of Frontier Crops (FC) headquarters in Turbat city of Kech district on Monday.
Local sources said that after the explosions, heavy gunfire was also heard for a few hours. However, government sources have neither confirmed nor denied the attack yet.
A Baloch “pro-independence” group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), in a media statement, claimed responsibility for the attack. “Baloch fighters fired several grenades at the enemy positions, inflicting heavy losses on enemy forces,” said BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said.
Another Baloch separatist group Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) also claimed responsibility for targeting Pakistani forces in the Washuk area of Balochistan.
BLF spokesman Major Gwahram Baloch said that BLF fighters attacked the Pakistani Army post with sniper and automatic weapons in the Balochabad area of Raghe located in the Washuk district. “Due to which enemy forces suffered casualties,” the group said.
In another separate statement, the BLF claims responsibility for targeting the Pakistani Army camp in the Sami area of Kech district with heavy weaponry causing multiple casualties to the army personnel.
