Six children lost their lives within a month during the Measles outbreak that started in Dukki and its surrounding areas.
According to reports, a two-year-old boy died due to measles in the Killi Sharang Nasir area of Dukki. The number of children who died from measles in Dukki has increased to six, while hundreds of people are still affected.
Hundreds of measles patients have been admitted to the district hospital of Dukki. However, locals complained about the lack of basic health facilities and the absence of qualified doctors in hospitals.
Meanwhile, social and political circles also urged the health department and high authorities to take notice of the situation on an emergency basis to prevent the epidemic. Locals have appealed to the health department and higher authorities to immediately provide vaccines and other facilities to prevent the death of many children.
Earlier in January, the health department released a report saying that 40 children were still infected with measles in the Dukki district.
