Two high-ranking officers of the Chaghi district administration were suspended after a verbal spat with the soldiers of the Frontier Corps at the Pak-Iran border.
According to reports, Deputy Commissioner Chaghi Hussain Jan Baloch and Assistant Commissioner Taftan Asmatullah Achakzai were sent home after they got into a bitter verbal argument with the soldiers of the Frontier Corps on the Taftan border. The two officers were suspended on charges of “misconduct” and “uncouth behaviour.”
Local sources say that the FC soldiers had stopped a passenger from entering Taftan, despite him having all the required documents and security clearance to do so. The traveller had made all the required arrangements before starting his journey, but he was stopped by the FC for undisclosed reasons.
The deputy commissioner and the assistant commissioner reportedly intervened and asked the FC soldiers why they had stopped the man from travelling to Iran. The two sides reportedly got into a heated argument after which the two officers were suspended indefinitely.
