One person was killed and 13 others were injured in an explosion on Quetta’s sabzal road on Friday evening.
According to Police sources, unknown miscreants lobbed a hand grenade which left 1 dead with 13 people injured. Police vehicle was said to be the target of the blast. The injured were rushed to Civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment.
Law enforcement forces reached the spot as an investigation into the incident is underway. Police sources said the attackers escaped unhurt from the spot. The blast damaged a vehicle and a rickshaw parked on the roadside.
As per eyewitnesses, the bomb exploded between the rickshaw and the vehicle. No group has claimed responsibility of the attack yet.
Meanwhile on Friday, a Baloch pro-independence group, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in Kharan and Kalat districts of Balochistan. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said in a press release that BLA fighters targeted the Pakistani army and its local informers in two separate attacks in Kharan and Kalat, killing one and injuring three.
Jeeyand Baloch said that BLA fighters on Wednesday shot killed Beg Muhammad Sasoli, a resident of Lijjay area of Kharan. The said person was a spy and special informant of the death squad formed by the Pakistani army and its secret agencies, he added.
“Beg Muhammad has been supporting enemy personnel in military operations in Kalat, Kharan and surrounding areas for a long time,” BLA spokesperson said.
He further said that last night in Johan area of Kalat, BLA fighters targeted a vehicle of the Pakistan army personnel in an IED attack when they were patrolling in the said area. As a result of the explosion, three officials were injured while their vehicle was severely damaged, he added.
