The forces were reportedly carrying out a large-scale military operation when they “forcibly disappeared” the three individuals from Kharan. The other two were picked up from Karachi in a raid at their residence.

The Pakistani security forces reportedly “abducted” three individuals during a search operation in district Kharan. One of them was identified as Wali Muhammad s/o Muhammad Haneef Sumalani, a resident of the Lajetok area of district Kharan, on May 28 Locals sources say that Wali Muhammad was picked up by the Pakistani forces when he was busy working in his fields. He was moved to an undisclosed location and his condition and whereabouts remain unknown.

On May 29, the forces picked up two youngsters who were identified as Inzamam Zehri, a student, and Habib Baloch, a footballer. The two individuals were picked during a raid on their homes.

In Karachi, the Counter-Terrorism Department reportedly “picked up” Zubair s/o Mola Baksh, a government employee in the fisheries department, when he was on duty. The forces had also picked up Imran Baloch, an electrician in the K-Electrics and a resident of Maripur, on May 11 when he was on duty. Three weeks later, his whereabouts and condition remain unknown.

Friends and colleagues of the two detainees claim that the CTD is behind the “abduction” of Zubair and Imran. Their respective employers have not yet commented on their disappearance, even though they were picked up while they were on duty.
