The leader of the Balochistan Ko Haq Do Movement, Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman, visited tehsil Pasni, Gwadar, where he was warmly welcomed a frenzied crowd. Addressing the gathering, Rehman said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and all the other resources of Balochistan belong to the people of Balochistan and no person, however powerful they may be, can deprive the people of their legitimate rights. He said that the Frontier Corps must be withdrawn from Balochistan; they are not humans, they are animals.
Addressing a crowd of hundreds of admirers, Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman said that the illegal trawling in the Baloch Sea is the invasion of the rights of the local fishermen. The trawling mafia has been forcefully imposed on us – the authorities have allowed them a free hand to fish in the ocean as they please. They are looting the ocean of its precious aquatic life and marine diversity, he said.
Addressing the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Qudduz Bizenjo, Rehman said that if the government fulfil its promises and contain the illegal trawling, eliminate unnecessary check posts or withdraw the security forces within three months, we will march to the provincial capitals with a crowd of a million people.
He said that drug and substance abuse has become a grave concern in Pasni. If the local police fail to contain the problem within a week, we will surround the police station in protest.
He said that we will not tolerate the harassment of our people – the authorities shall not pester the fishermen for entering the Pasni Jetty. The check posts of the Maritime Security Agency and the Coast Guards shall be closed. “This is the city of the fishermen, and they will be respected here.”
Rehman warned the facilitators of the trawler mafia that they must refrain from their actions, or we will make their details public. Stoves have gone cold in the houses of the fishermen; this injustice will no longer be tolerated.
The Gwadar Ko Haq Do Movement leader said that Frontier Corps must be withdrawn from Balochistan because “they are not humans; they are animals who kill our innocent children. They killed brutally murdered Hayat Baloch in the broad daylight in front of his parents and then excused it as a ‘mistake’.”
In a meeting of the fishermen in Oramara on Thursday, Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman said that the city and the sea belong to the Baloch. If the Pakistan Navy builds any kind of infrastructure without our approval, we will demolish it.
