In the provincial capital Quetta, hundreds of civilians took to the streets to protest against the rampant load-shedding in several major areas of the city. The protestors blocked a key road in the Quetta, suspending the traffic for hours. 

The protestors said that the SDO of the Quetta Electrical Supply Company (Qesco) cut down the electrical supply in several major areas of the city, in the afternoon. The electricity has not been restored yet. 

Agitated by the lack of electricity in the sweltering summer days, civilians in Quetta took to the streets to protest the rampant load-shedding in the city. They blocked Spinny Road in protest and suspended the traffic for several hours. 

The disturbance in the electrical supply has created numerous major problems for people throughout Balochistan. Balochistan lies in a zone that receives very low rainfall – 176 millilitres annually. During the summers, the temperatures remain well above 40 degrees Celsius and in some areas, like Sibbi, Lasbela and Makran region, it can reach 50 degrees.

Two days earlier, hundreds of civilians including women and children gathered in tehsil Tump of district Kech to protest against the load-shedding in the Makran region. The protestors said that due to disturbance in electrical supply, the inhabitants are suffering for every drop of water. 

Square the blistering summer temperature with the unchecked load-shedding, one can understand that why civilians are frequently seen protesting on the roads.
