Baloch Students Organization (BSO) Chairman Zareef Rind has blamed Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi for the recent raid on his house by the Pakistani forces. Rind said that in pursuit of “political revenge”, Buledi directed the security forces to carry out an “extralegal” raid on his house.
Zareef Rind said that the Pakistani security forces breached the privacy of his household, vandalized his possessions and harassed the women and children in the house in an open violation of the Baloch code of honour and values. He blamed provincial Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi for the whole episode, saying that he had pressurized the forces to carry out the extralegal raid.
The BSO chairman said that he repeatedly urged the forces to stop the raid, but they ignored his appeals and said they had orders from the “above” to carry out the raid on his house. The forces had been told that armed “terrorists” and “militants” were residing under Rind’s roof. He said that the forces searched the house and found nothing, and shortly before leaving, they said: “Solve your issues with Zahoor and Aslam Buledi.”
Rind said that he is against Buledi’s “prejudicial and vengeful politics”, but not against his family. He said that the Buledi family has been at the helm in Buleda for over three decades. They have always used their authority and power to subdue political opponents. They have also had their opponents killed in broad daylight. Rind said that the Buledi family has always evaded arrest and prosecution – they have built their political empire on a pile of corpses.
Rind said that a “terrorist militia” had attacked his house back in April 2016, and his house guest Naseeb Langau – a resident of Manguchar and a crockery seller – had been killed. Another guest, Fazil Khuda Baksh, had been hit in the head. A few months later, another had on his house in October had killed his younger brother Hasil Rind.
He said that death squad leaders were found involved in these attacks, but not apprehended or punished because of his connections with Zahoor Buledi.
Rind said that politics has been a part of his life since his days in school. He said that he has been struggling for a progressive society and against oppressive rulers. But because of his political stances, he is being targeted with political vengeance. “I might or might not survive through this ordeal, but I will never capitulate”, he said.
