Pakistani security forces were targeted in two separate attacks in Quetta and Kech. Baloch pro-independence groups have claimed responsibility for the attacks.
According to the details, a security force personnel was shot dead in a sniper attack on a check post in Gomazi, district Kech, on Friday. Pro-independence group Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the attack.
In a media statement, Gohram Baloch, the spokesperson for the group, claimed responsibility for the attack, adding that his group will continue its struggle until the independence of Balochistan.
In another news, the security forces were attacked in the Brewery area of Quetta on Friday. Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack in a media statement.
Jeehand Baloch, the spokesperson for BLA, said in the statement that his group had targeted a Frontier Corps (FC) convoy in an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) attack in Quetta. He claimed that the forces had sustained heavy casualties and their vehicle had been severely damaged.
According to the sources, the area has been cordoned off and the bomb disposal squad and levies have been summoned on the site. One official told the media that the IED used in the attack weighed between six to seven kilograms.
