The protest comes after the Balochistan High Court (BHC) directed the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Saturday to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to Balochistan. The court had also directed the officials to look into the issue of heavy bills of the gas company in the province.

The bench directed that steps should be taken to address the issue keeping in view harsh weather conditions and the financial status of the consumers who fall within the middle and low-middle class.

It is to mention that Northern areas of Balochistan including Mastung, Kalat and the capital city Quetta are under the grip of chilly weather for more than a week now.

Amid freezing temperatures, gas pressure reduction load shedding and lack of facilities add to the miseries of the people in northern region and citizens face difficulties in severe cold every year.
