Bashir Zeb Baloch, former chairman of the Baloch Students Organization Azad and currently head of the Baloch Liberation Army, or BLA, expressed his views on the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of BSO on Twitter, saying that the spirit and basic political philosophy of the BSO is resistance and the struggle for national liberation.

26 November marks the day of establishment of the Baloch Students Organization, a student organisation also known as “mother organisation” of Baloch politics, which has played a fundamental in the Balochistan’s politics.

Mr Zeb further said that there is no difference between BSO or any NGO except the struggle for national liberation. BSO members should realise this and play their full role in national liberation movement, he added.

It should be noted that the Baloch students organization has been divided in various frictions time to time since its formation, but BSO has always played an important role in inculcating political awareness and critical thinking in young generations. As a result, hundreds of BSO affiliated youths have been killed after being arrested allegedly by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies.

According to reports, hundreds of BSO members and leaders have been killed after being abducted including top leaders such as, Ghulam Muhammad Baloch and Hameed Shaheen. While several leaders are missing to date, which includes Zakir Majeed Baloch, BSO’s voice chairperson, Zahid Baloch, who was the chairman at the time of his abduction and central committee member Shabir Baloch.
