The ‘Release Rashid Hussain Committee’ will hold demonstrations and awareness campaigns in Germany, Netherlands, South Korea and other countries in August.
Zamuran Baloch, the spokesman for the committee, said that the long term disappearance and non-recovery of Rashid Hussain has become a matter of high concern.
‘Human rights activist Rashid Hussain who was picked up in December 2018 and kept incommunicado by United Arab Emirates for six months, and later illegally extradited to Pakistan on a chartered plane,” said Mr Baloch.
The spokesperson said; “we have all the evidence that the UAE illegally handed over human rights activist Rashid Hussain to Pakistan and the Pakistani media aired the news, but today Pakistan denies the custody of Rashid Hussain, we fear that they might harm Rashid Hussain.
According to the spokesperson, Rashid Hussain’s family has been protesting in front of Karachi and Quetta Press Clubs for last two years and similarly ‘Baloch Diaspora’ abroad is also protesting for the safe recovery of Rashid Hussain.
“We want justice under Pakistan’s judicial system, but Pakistani intelligence agencies have been failed so far to bring Rashid Hussain to the court – ignoring their own country’s system, Amnesty International’s appeals and all these protests,” Zamuran Baloch said.
The committee spokesperson further said that Pakistan has also ignored the appeals of the international community for the recovery of Rashid Hussain, whereas the question of the civilized nations including Amnesty International to the United Arab Emirates to this day remains unanswered that for what crime Rashid Hussain was illegally extradited to Pakistan?
In this manner the Release Rashid Hussain committee has announced demonstrations in Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea and several other countries in August.
Zamuran Baloch said that the enforced disappearances of all Baloch political activists including Rashid Hussain are the worst violations of human rights. We demand justice according to the world and Pakistani law, he said.
