The houses of the Baloch political workers were attacked in Khudabadan, Panjgur, in midnight on Monday by unknown assailants, sending shockwaves of anxiety across the area.

According to the details, the houses of Hammal Baloch, the president of Baloch National Movement, or BNM Germany zone, and Dawood Baloch s/o Dad Rehman, a former member of the Baloch Student Organization Azad (BSO_A) were attacked on 3 a.m. on Monday. The unknown assailants reportedly opened indiscriminate fire on the houses, resulting in property destruction, but no fatalities have been reported yet. The assailants then escaped the scene.

Hammal Baloch confirmed the incident in a tweet that read: “After BNM protest in Berlin against Harnai massacre on July 18, Pakistani death squads attack my & Shaheed Dawood, who was a former BSO-A colleague home in #Panjgur They shot hundreds of bullets at our homes. It is not the first time when my family was punished for my activism.”

He accused the local ‘death squad’ for orchestrating the attack and said that he had been sued under false charges, his brother had been abducted and tortured and his houses had been raided in past. He said that this is not the first time that his family had been punished for his political activities. He said that he will not yield to such ‘inhumane’ tactics and will continue to struggle for the human rights and the independence of Balochistan.

The BNM Germany Zone condemned the incident on its official twitter account and alleged that the attack had been executed in response to their protest in Berlin, Germany, against the “Harnai Massacre.”

Hammal’s affiliated organization, the Baloch National Movement, condemned the incident in a statement and said that the ‘state-sponsored barbarism’ has increased. The statement said that the Baloch political workers and activists are forced to flee Pakistan to escape ‘collective punishment’ and seek asylum in European countries to raise voice against ‘Pakistani barbarism.’ The Pakistani governments have only aggravated the situation in Balochistan: Pakistan Peoples’ Party initiated the ‘kill-and-dump’ policy; Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz added the mass graves and collective punishments; and the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has embarked on an effort to harass the families of the overseas Baloch political workers, the statement said.

As per the details, the local police has not investigated the attack and no First Information Report has been registered yet.
