Leader of the National Party (NP), Meer Hasil Khan bizinjo has said that the central leader of NP, and the human rights activist Idrees Khan Khatak is missing since last six months. The only sin of Idrees Kahtak is that he used to raise his voice against human rights violations. “Hundreds of Baloch political activists for many years are in torture cells and facing violence and inhuman acts,” he said in a statement.
He added “the most serious problem in Balochistan and KPK is the human rights violations and enforced disappearances of the political activists”.
He demanded that all missing political activists be rescued before Eid-ul-Fitr, so that the missing persons could celebrate Eid with their families.
On other hand an organisation, protesting for the safe recovery of missing persons “forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani army” in Balochistan, has completed 3963 days of continuous protests.
On the occasion, VBMP leader “Mama Qadeer Baloch” said that although Pakistan’s brutality against the Baloch nation has been going on since day one, it has intensified in the last few years due to changing political relations and socio-political and economic attitudes in the region.
Earlier six new enforced disappearances were reported in Kharan and Kech, districts of Balochistan on Sunday.
The UN Working Group on Enforced Disappearances has also confirmed that it sent several requests to Pakistan government to visit the country to investigate the cases of extra judicial detentions, but is still has not received permission from Pakistani authorities.
