According yo analysts, enforced disappearances in Balochistan have become a common military tactic to subdue the insurgency, which has also been a reason for major human rights violation in the region.
Voice For Baloch Missing Persons(VBMP) is an organization of the families of such victims of enforced disappearances. VBMP data counted the number of missing persons in thousands and many of the missing persons have returned only as dead bodies.
Enforced disappearances have never stopped in Balochistan even after the end of military rule of General Pervez Musharraf in 2013, in fact, a surge has been witnessed in the disappearances.
Chief Minister Jam Kamal had previously asked for two month’s duration in order to sort the Missing Persons issue. However, the VBMP representatives have told TBP that more men are abducted every new day instead of releasing previously abducted men.
