At least 11 persons, including two minors, have been ‘forcibly disappeared’ in two military raids conducted in Kech, Balochistan.

According to local TBP correspondent, Pakistani security forces carried out raids in Buledah Sallo, early on Monday morning and cordoned off the locality.

During the house to house search operation, 4 persons were detained, who were later taken to undisclosed locations. The detainees were identified as two brothers Akhtar Azeem and Akbar Azeem and two others named as Zubair s/o Jumma and Yasir s/o Jaleel.

In a separate raid conducted in Menaz, Buledah at least seven persons were disappeared. These include two minors, 10-year-old boy identified as Amjad s/o Saleem and 13-year-old Jameel s/o Dad Mohammad.

Other abductees of Menaz, Buledah were identified as Nawaz s/o Ghulam Jan and Abdullah s/o Saeed. The identity of other three missing persons is yet to be ascertained.

The term ‘Missing Person’ is widely used in Balochistan for the persons who have been allegedly picked up by security forces and are not presented before the court of law and instead kept in military camps.

According to Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), the campaign group by families of victims, more than 40,000 Baloch men, women, and children are under Pakistani custody.

VBMP also alleges that at least 5,000 missing persons have been killed and dumped over last one decade.
