Pakistani security forces raided a wedding ceremony and detained a groom and his brother.
According to local TBP correspondent, Pakistani security forces raided a wedding ceremony in Washuk, Balochistan and arrested the groom and his brother.
The brothers Tahir and Jamal, sons of Fateh Mohammed, were taken to undisclosed location.
The raid was carried out during Tahir’s wedding ceremony.
This is third incident in a span of two months, where wedding ceremonies are raided.
Earlier in Mashkay, two grooms Mohammad Sadiq and Abdain were disappeared in August and September respectively.
Balochistan is plagued by the enforced disappearances of Baloch youth and activists. However, recently instances of ‘women and children abductions’ have also been reported.
International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani security forces as the perpetrators of ‘illegal abductions in Balochistan’.
According to Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), a campaign group by families of Baloch missing persons, tens of thousands of Baloch men, women and children are under custody of Pakistani forces.
Mama Qadeer, VBMP’s leader, is currently in Geneva to raise the missing persons issue with UN authorities and other international bodies.
