‘United Nations should take immediate actions to stop state brutalism on Baloch and Muhajirs’, MQM leader Altaf Hussain.
According to details received by The Balochistan Post, Altaf Hussain in his third lecture on the topic of “Balochistan issue and historical background”, stated that the Baloch people demand freedom to live with independence and self-determination but their voice is being crushed with military might. “Death Squads have been formed to suppress the voice of Baloch and the so-called proscribed organizations are also being used against them”, MQM leader said.
“Baloch activists, leaders, representatives of human rights organizations, lawyers and politicians are being targeted and their mutilated bodies are being dumped, while the mass graves of Balochs are being found. Even Baloch women and children are forcibly disappeared and killed now. The number of missing Balochs is in thousands, while the people who raise voice for missing persons are themselves disappeared. The United Nations’s silence on the Pakistani brutalities on Baloch and Muhajir people is very sad and beyond comprehension,” London based Altaf Hussain added.
The MQM leader further said that, ‘due to media blackout in the region, incidents of state violations in Balochistan have not been reported, TV talk shows refrain from talking about Balochistan issues. People’s mandate has repeatedly been killed in Balochistan and Governor Raj has been imposed five times, while none of Chief Ministers has ever completed their full term.’
He said that the Pakistani Army’s occupation of Balochistan is due to the wealth of natural resources, which Pakistani state is plundering with full impunity.
He addressed the Pakistani establishment to get a lesson from the Dhaka Fall of 1971. ‘If policy makers want to save Pakistan then the military operations, extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances should immediately be stopped,’ Mr. Hussain added.
