Baloch Students Organisation – Azad (BSO-A) has paid rich tribute to late Anwar Sahib Khan and Ghaus Baksh Bahar.
In a statement released to media on Thursday, the student organisation expressed sorrow and grief over the demise of the Baloch poets and linguists late Anwar Sahib Khan and Ghaus Bakhsh Bahar
The organisation’s spokesperson said that the demise of these personalities has deprived Baloch people of precious humanist, nationalist and knowledge lovers, who had passed the larger part of their life in serving the Baloch literature. ‘They paid a huge role in revivalism of the Baloch society. Their literary and social services will always be remembered,’ the BSO-A spokesperson added.
BSO-A Spokesperson said that Anwar Sahib Khan was a nationalist; the center of his poetry and art was Baloch people. He presented evils and oppression of the Baloch society with his poetry and art in a very remarkable manner. ‘Due to these services, the state also made him the subject of disappearance and torture, but he always continued his struggle for the betterment of the Baloch society with the power of his pen and knowledge.
Commenting on the positive contributions of Ghaus Baksh Bahar, BSO-A said that Mr. Bahar was a sincere nationalist, who loved his motherland. His love for the motherland was expressed in his poetry and writings.
‘Late Ghaus Bakhsh wrote progressive articles and dialogues for the development of Balochi language. He also wrote political essays to promote Baloch nationalism. Therefore, he had to face economic distress and was also jail because his literary services. However, he faced all those hardships and continued his services,’ BSO-A statement read.
Anwar Sahib Khan and Ghaus Baksh Bahar, two widely known Baloch literary figures, passed away earlier this month.
