There are reports of heavy clashes between Pakistani security forces and armed persons in Keelkor, near Panjgur.
According to details received by The Balochistan Post, Pakistani security forces raided a locality this morning in Keelkor and were conducting house to house searches when unknown armed persons attacked them.
Heavy weaponry was used by both sides during the battle. There are reports of losses with at least one Pakistani security forces vehicle being completely destroyed during the attack.
Keelkor is located on multi-billion Chinese project, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and has, therefore, been target of many military raids in last few months.
Security forces deployed for the protection of CPEC have come under heavy attacks by Baloch armed groups. Security forces and personnel of construction company FWO, which is a subsidiary of Pakistani military, have continuously been targeted in the region by Baloch armed groups, who claim the CPEC was initiated without the ‘will and approval of Baloch nation’.
This is the second attack in Keelkor on Pakistani forces. On 14th June, A Pakistani security forces convoy guarding the multi-billion dollar project had also come under heavy attack.
These attacks are followed by raids on local villages by Pakistani security forces.
This is the second attack in two days on Pakistani forces in Panjgur. On Thursday, evening Pakistani forces were also attacked in another locality of Panjgur called Gichk. BLA had claimed responsibility for the attack that had killed one Pakistani personnel and injured two others.
However, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack carried out this morning.
