Two police officers were killed and another injured after unidentified armed men opened fire in Quetta on Thursday.

According to The Balochistan Post correspondent, the incident took place on the double road flyover.

The injured policeman was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.

In another incident, two polio workers were gunned down in Quetta.

Unidentified gunmen attacked polio vaccination team in Shalkot area of Quetta killing Sakina Bibi and her daughter Rizwana Bibi, 12.

Anti-polio workers are often targeted in volatile Balochistan by religious extremists.

Earlier on January 9, at least 10 people including policemen were injured after an explosion occurred at the Zarghoon Road in Quetta.
