A central leader of Balochistan National Party (BNP), Naveed Dehwar, was killed in broad daylight today in a busy market of Quetta, Balochistan.

Mr. Dehwar was travelling with his bodyguard, when unknown assailants sprayed his vehicle with bullets on Arbab Karam Khan road Quetta. He along with his bodyguard died on the spot.

Another man, identified as Haji Essa, also sustained injuries in the attack.

The assailants fled the scene after the attack.

BNP has strongly condemned the attack on their leader. BNP’s head, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, wrote on twitter, “Is this the price we have to pay for a democratic struggle?”.

BNP was founded by Wadh based veteran Baloch leader Sardar Attaullah Mengal. Many of organisation’s leaders have been target killed in last few years.
