Turbat town has observed an unannounced general strike against the ill-treatment of shopkeepers by Pakistani security forces.
According to local TBP correspondent, markets in Turbat town are on lockdown today after Pakistani security forces ‘disappeared many shopkeepers’.
“Pakistani forces indiscriminately arrested many shopkeepers yesterday, there was a curfew like situation here,” a shopkeeper told TBP correspondent, “Today all the shopkeepers decided to go on strike.”
Several civilians were arrested and subsequently taken to undisclosed locations yesterday after a personnel of Pakistani security forces was gunned down in Turbat. Armed group BLF had claimed responsibility for the targeted killing.
After the incident, Pakistani security forces closed various entry points of the town and a massive search operation was launched on Friday.
House to house search operation was conducted in Singaani Sir, Malik Abad, Koshkalaat and several other localities.
