Ten people, including a 15-year-old student, have allegedly been forcibly disappeared in separate incidents across Balochistan, while four previously missing men have been recovered in Kech district.

Local sources in Awaran district said Pakistani forces detained Maulabakhsh, son of Daud, and his son Ghaffar during a raid in Jhao on 1 November and took them to an undisclosed location. The following day, sources said, Pakistani military personnel tortured and detained Dost Muhammad, son of Ahmad, during another raid in the area. All three remain missing.

Pakistani forces were also accused of detaining two brothers, Kahda Ganj and Baigman, both sons of Dildar, in Shadi Kaur, Pasni, on 1 November. The brothers were reportedly taken to an undisclosed location and have not been heard from since.

Four of the cases were reported in Quetta, Balochistan’s capital.

Yahya Baloch, a 15-year-old student and son of Pir Muhammad, was reportedly taken from his home in Killi Qambarani at around 3 a.m. on 27 October. Sources accused personnel of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of involvement in his disappearance.

Zafar Baloch, a 28-year-old shopkeeper and son of Haji Ghulam Muhammad, was reportedly detained on Kirani Road at around 3 a.m. on 16 October. Reports accused MI and CTD personnel of involvement and said this was the second time he had been forcibly disappeared.

Kifayat Baloch, a 20-year-old student and son of Hidayatullah Bangulzai, was allegedly detained by CTD personnel outside the University of Balochistan at around 9 p.m. on 18 September. He is a resident of Quetta’s Eastern Bypass area.

Muhammad Azam, a 25-year-old street vendor and son of Khudadad, was reportedly detained near Allied School on Airport Road at around 1 a.m. on 20 August. Azam lives on Manojan Road in Hudda. Sources attributed his detention to ISI and CTD personnel.

In Panjgur district, Frontier Corps (FC) personnel allegedly detained Zubair Baloch, an 18-year-old driver and son of Syed Baloch, at the Jirak border in Parom at around noon on 5 October. He remains missing.

Four Missing Men Recovered in Kech

Four men who had allegedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Kech district were recovered in Turbat between 25 and 28 October.

Brothers Tayyab Nasir and Pazeer Nasir, both sons of Haji Nasir, were recovered on 25 October, eight days after their reported disappearance from Turbat’s Aapsar area. Ikram Baloch, son of Ismail Baloch and a resident of Mand, was recovered on 28 October, two days after he was reportedly forcibly disappeared.

Ghulam Jan Baloch, son of Saleh Muhammad and a resident of Umari Kahn Saami, was recovered on 27 October after nearly 17 months. He had reportedly been forcibly disappeared on 27 May 2025. Reports said he was handed over to police after his recovery.

VBMP Protest Continues in Quetta

Meanwhile, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) continued its protest outside the Quetta Press Club for the 6,408th day. Comrade Manzoor Baloch and Inqilab Communist Party leader Karim Parhad were among those who visited the camp, where participants demanded the recovery of missing persons and condemned their alleged extrajudicial killings.

VBMP chairman Nasrullah Baloch said enforced disappearances and the alleged killings violated the Constitution, the law and fundamental human rights, leaving affected families in prolonged distress.

He called on the government to ensure the safe return of missing persons, adding that anyone accused of an offence should be brought before a court and given the opportunity to defend themselves.

Nasrullah also demanded transparent investigations into the disappearances to identify those responsible and hold them accountable. He said the issue should be addressed through constitutional, legal and democratic means rather than force.

Enforced disappearances remain a longstanding issue in Balochistan, where families and human rights organisations have repeatedly protested against detentions at undisclosed locations and demanded that those held be brought before courts.

The Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) documented 54 enforced disappearances in its September report, including five cases from earlier months. Nine teenagers, two women and a young girl were among those reported missing. The organisation recorded 11 reappearances and four deaths in custody, while most of those taken remained unaccounted for.
