Four more individuals have been forcibly disappeared from different areas of Balochistan during the first week of November, The Balochistan Post news desk has learned.
In Panjgur, Haji Shoaib, son of Waheed Bakhsh and a resident of Tasp, was allegedly taken into custody by Pakistani armed forces around midnight on 7 November. Local sources said he was moved to an unknown location, and no information has been provided to the family since.
In Kech, Jalal Baloch, son of Jameel and a resident of Gomazi, Tump, was allegedly detained from his home at around 2 a.m. on 8 November.
Paank, the human rights department of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), said Jalal works as a driver and was taken from his home by Pakistani armed forces “without warrant, in the absence of due process or judicial oversight.”
In Dera Bugti, Abdullah, son of Toso Bugti, was reportedly detained in broad daylight by personnel of Pakistani armed forces. Eyewitnesses said he was taken away without explanation and transferred to an undisclosed location. Abdullah is employed by Pakistan Petroleum Limited.
Meanwhile, in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, Shafiq Ahmed, son of Noor Muhammad and a resident of Gidar, Surab, was allegedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani armed forces from the Killi Ibrahimzai area of Brewery Road at 10:30 a.m. on 5 November.
In a statement, Paank said it “strongly condemns the enforced disappearance of Shafiq Ahmed,” noting that he is a student of the Disaster Management Department. Paank said “the continued targeting of students and civilians fosters fear and insecurity,” and urged authorities to ensure his safe recovery.
