Seven security guards were injured in a grenade attack on the residence of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Agha Shakeel Ahmed Durrani and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Agha Shazeb Durrani in Khuzdar’s Do Talwar area on Friday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khuzdar Shehzada Umar Abbas Babar said unidentified individuals threw a hand grenade at the house, injuring the guards on duty. The injured were taken to Khuzdar Teaching Hospital, where officials reported their condition as stable.
Police and security forces cordoned off the area after the blast and launched a search operation. SSP Babar said evidence was collected from the site and that efforts were under way to trace the attackers.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said an investigation had been opened and that those responsible would be brought before the law.
