Reports from different districts of Balochistan highlight ongoing concerns regarding enforced disappearances and custodial detentions in the region.

In Nushki, family sources confirmed that Tariq Baloch, who had allegedly been taken into custody by security forces around four months ago, has returned home. Relatives said he had been missing since being detained from his residence, and that his release took place on Tuesday night. His family described the period of his disappearance as one of severe psychological distress.

In Mastung, a separate case involving the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) was brought to court. According to reports, CTD officials detained Shahid Ahmed, a watchman at the local press club, on 2 September. Following petitions from his family and local journalists, the matter was raised in court. Subsequently, Shahid Ahmed was transferred to Central Jail, though he now faces multiple terrorism-related charges filed on the complaint of a CTD officer. Family members expressed concern that prison authorities have not permitted them to meet him, raising questions about his health and well-being.

Meanwhile, in Kalat district’s Mangochar area, Levies personnel recovered the body of a man identified as Safiullah, son of Abdul Wahab, a resident of Kohak currently living in Khadkochah. The body was first shifted to a rural health centre for identification before being handed over to his relatives. Authorities stated that the cause and circumstances of his death remain unclear, and investigations are underway.

Rights groups note that incidents of enforced disappearances, detentions, and unexplained deaths continue to cause concern in various parts of Balochistan.
