Armed Baloch insurgent groups have claimed responsibility for a series of recent attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and associated interests across different districts of Balochistan.

In a statement issued to the media, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said its fighters carried out multiple operations between 13 and 15 August in Mastung, Kalat, Quetta and Mand. According to the group, two Pakistani soldiers were killed in Mand’s Koh Pusht Giab area when its fighters opened fire on them while they were patrolling on a motorcycle. The BLA claimed the soldiers’ weapons were seized following the incident.

The group’s spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch further stated that its fighters launched a grenade attack on a police station in Quetta’s New Sariab area, causing what it described as casualties and damage. On 15 August, BLA claimed responsibility for targeting a convoy of military vehicles and motorcycles in Kalat’s Manguchar area, and on 13 August, the BLA said it set fire to the office of a transport company in Mastung, accusing it of supplying rations and logistics to Pakistani security forces.

Separately, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said its fighters engaged Pakistani forces in Mastung district on the night of 3 September. The group claimed that militants set up a blockade on the Quetta–Karachi highway near Khadkucha, prompting an exchange of fire with security personnel lasting about two hours. The BLF alleged that Pakistani forces used drones and artillery during the clash, and claimed that government troops sustained casualties, while its fighters withdrew safely.

The BLF also accused security forces of subsequently firing shells into civilian areas, which it said left a health facility guard injured in Mastung’s Umar Dor area.

Pakistani authorities have not commented on the incidents yet.
