The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claims it conducted two separate operations on Sunday in Dhadar and Turbat, resulting in the brief capture of a Levies post and the killing of a man the group called an “agent and informer” for Pakistani forces.

In a media statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said fighters took control of a Levies checkpoint at Sabri in the Dhadar area of Kachhi. They reportedly detained three personnel, seizing their weapons and equipment. The BLA said it released the Levies officers unharmed, as they were Baloch, after issuing a warning.

Later that evening, the BLA said it “neutralized” Muhammad Arif, son of Muhammad Umar, in the Absar area of Turbat. The BLA statement claimed Arif was working “on parole” for Military Intelligence (MI) and had taken part in operations that led to the deaths of Baloch activists and fighters between 2020 and 2021.

The BLA accused Arif of assisting Pakistani forces in military campaigns in Gichk, Rakhshan, and other areas, implicating him in enforced disappearances and roadblocks, as well as alleged “death squad” activities. The group said its fighters targeted him due to “national treason” and claimed responsibility for both the checkpoint incident and Arif’s killing.

The BLA is considered one of the major “pro-independence” armed groups active in Balochistan. It regularly claims responsibility for attacks on Pakistani security forces, alleged informants, security infrastructure, and foreign nationals working on what it calls “exploitative” projects.

In 2024, the group said it carried out 302 attacks, reportedly causing over 580 fatalities and 370+ injuries, in addition to 171 incidents of property damage across 21 districts. The BLA also reported the loss of 52 fighters during the same period, many from its Majeed Brigade, known for high-profile suicide operations.

The group recently released video footage on its official channel, Hakkal, showcasing several attacks against Pakistani forces in Mastung, Kech, Kalat, and other areas.
