A gas canister explosion at the Behesht Restaurant in Zabul, Western (Iran-administered) Balochistan, killed two people and injured 11 others on Tuesday evening, local officials said.
The incident occurred at 8:28 PM at the restaurant, located opposite the Zabul governorate. The Medical Accidents and Emergencies Management Center of Zabul University of Medical Sciences confirmed that two civilians lost their lives, while 11 others sustained injuries.
Of the injured, four were treated on an outpatient basis, while seven were hospitalized after receiving initial care at the scene.
Emergency response teams were dispatched to the site shortly after the explosion to assist victims and provide medical aid. Authorities have yet to release further details about the cause of the incident, but initial reports suggest it was triggered by a faulty gas canister.
