A young Baloch student went missing from Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan, on September 5, but the news of his disappearance was reported today.
According to reports, Pakistani forces allegedly forcibly detained a student of 8th grade named Attaullah son of Jumma Khan from his home in the Killi Jumma Khan area of the city.
Political and social circles say that the victim’s family has been a target of state repression for a long time, Muhammad Ali Chapar belonging to the same family was reportedly killed by Pakistani forces in Kalat city after his forced disappearance. The family members have appealed to the Baloch political and social activists to raise their voices for the safe recovery of their loved ones.
It is pertinent to mention that forced disappearances are a daily occurrence in Balochistan. According to various rights groups, more than 55,000 people have forcibly disappeared from different areas of the region. Human Rights Watch, the United Nations, and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani forces and its intelligence agencies of enforcement disappearances in Balochistan.
