A military operation has been ongoing in the Mastung district of Balochistan since Monday morning.

According to reports, Pakistani military forces have launched a large-scale operation in several areas of Mastung, with helicopters continuously flying over the mountainous regions. Multiple sources indicate that Pakistan Army combat helicopters have also been seen shelling various locations, including Koh-e-Maran, Kabo, Talkha Kavi, Ghar, and surrounding areas. Regional reports confirm that helicopter flights have been observed from Quetta to the FC camp in Mastung. However, authorities have yet to comment on the ongoing operation.

In a separate development, Pakistani forces reportedly raided the house of Khaleef Baloch, son of Qadir Bakhsh, in the Jhao area of Awaran. Allegedly, the forces harassed and tortured residents during the raid, though no arrests have been reported.

Khaleef, also known as Aslam Baloch, was one of the suicide bombers involved with the Majeed Brigade, a suicide unit of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). He participated in the attack on the Naval Air Base in Turbat last March, which the BLA referred to as “Operation Zir Pahazag, Phase Five”.

Baloch groups and human rights organizations have condemned the military action, describing it as “collective punishment.” In similar incidents, several families of missing Baloch persons or freedom fighters have been citing continuous harassment and violence from Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies.
