The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that more than 100 Pakistani military personnel have been killed in a series of attacks across Balochistan as part of their “Operation Herof.”

The attacks, which reportedly began on Sunday night and continued into Monday, targeted military convoys, camps, and major highways across the region.

BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated that the group’s elite unit, the Majeed Brigade, has maintained control over the Bela military camp, killing 56 personnel and capturing a significant portion of the camp.

The assault on the Bela camp began with two explosives-laden vehicles ramming into the camp’s entrance, causing extensive damage.

“The Majeed Brigade fighters eliminated 56 enemy personnel and have maintained control over a significant part of the camp for more than 11 hours,” Jeeyand Baloch said in a statement to the media early Monday.

A military convoy that arrived to reinforce the Pakistani troops was also attacked by the “fidayeen unit” and forced to retreat. Two armored vehicles were reportedly destroyed with anti-tank weapons, according to the BLA’s statement.

The BLA further claimed responsibility for setting up blockades across major highways in Balochistan, which they say resulted in the deaths of an additional 62 military personnel. These blockades were established on key routes, including the Gwadar-Jiwani Coastal Highway, Mand-Turbat Road, and Quetta-Taftan Road, among others.

In one incident, BLA fighters reportedly targeted a military convoy on the Mand-Turbat Road, leading to the destruction of a vehicle and the deaths of five personnel. Similar attacks were reported in other districts, including Noshki and Bolan, where clashes with Pakistani forces allegedly resulted in multiple casualties.

In Noshki, local sources reported that armed men attacked the main Pakistani military camp in the city, resulting in intense gunfire and explosions. Two civilians were reportedly injured in retaliatory fire by the forces. Meanwhile, in Bolan, rescue officials recovered six bodies from the Dhadar area, reportedly killed by gunfire during the night.

In a related incident, Pakistani authorities discovered the bodies of 23 people who were offloaded from buses and killed in Rarasham, Musakhel. The BLA claimed it killed military personnel traveling in civilian clothes on passenger buses.

Additionally, an IED explosion was reported in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, targeting a vehicle reportedly carrying intelligence personnel. No official statement has been released by the authorities regarding the attack.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, confirmed the attacks and stated that security forces were on high alert and responded effectively to the BLA’s assaults. The ISPR also confirmed that the fighting with BLA fighters is still ongoing, with a commitment to “eliminating the remaining insurgents.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed “deep grief and condemnation over the attack” in a statement issued by his office.

It should be noted that over the past 24 hours, the BLA has launched a series of coordinated attacks on multiple government installations, including military convoys, security forces’ camps, highways, and police stations across Balochistan.

“We have taken full control of all major highways across Balochistan, blocking them completely. The Majeed Brigade has successfully infiltrated and attacked the central military camp in Bela,” the BLA said in a statement, urging the public to stay indoors.
