In Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, the Pakistani army has allegedly detained the father of BLA’s Gwadar attack commander Shaukat Hakeem Gangu, and subsequently moved him to an undisclosed location.

According to the report, the Pakistani army raided the house in the Gazgi area of Khuzdar and forcibly disappeared Abdul Hakim Baloch. The local sources told TBP correspondent that Pakistani forces harassed women and children during the raid.

The incident took place on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. However, the Pakistani military officials and district administration have not yet commented on these allegations.

Abdul Hakim’s son Shaukat Hakeem was the operational commander of the Majeed Brigade of the Baloch Liberation Army who was involved in the Gwadar attack on Wednesday. The attack led to the death of 25 officials of Pakistani intelligence agencies ISI and MI, along with personnel of the army and navy as well as members of local death squads.

It’s pertinent to mention that enforced disappearances in Balochistan are not uncommon and continue to rise on a daily basis. The Baloch circle considered the “abduction” of Shoukat Baloch’s father as an act of “collective punishment” and demanded an end to such incidents.
