A measles epidemic has recently struck the Kalat and Mastung regions of Balochistan, affecting a significant number of children.

The Quetta Young Doctors Association of Balochistan reports that Shipch, Zard Ghulam Jan, and Mangochar areas of Kalat while Shernap in Mastung have witnessed a surge in Measles cases, impacting over 10 children and resulting in one tragic fatality.

The association appealed to the government to take measures to deal with this epidemic on an emergency basis and urged the government to conduct a transparent inquiry against They also call for a transparent inquiry against the government and private organizations participating in the vaccination if any shortcomings are identified.

Balochistan has experienced recurrent measles outbreaks, prompting concerns about the effectiveness of government interventions and vaccination programs. The statement further underscores that if there is any lapse in the process of vaccination or their use is creating further problems then the government should immediately stop the process and conduct a transparent inquiry to take action against the people involved.
