Pakistani forces have allegedly detained two people from Quetta and Chaghi districts of Balochistan and subsequently moved them to undisclosed locations.

According to reports, Jamal Marri, son of Gul Khan Marri, was allegedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani law-enforcement agencies from New Kahan area of Quetta city on November 23.

Similarly, Pakistani forces have allegedly detained a vegetable vendor identified as Sibghatullah Sarparah from Chaghi district around midnight on Monday.

It’s pertinent to mention that enforced disappearances have been continuously occurring for the last two decades and so far thousands have been victims of enforced disappearances.

Local human rights organisations working on the cases of enforced disappearances have confirmed more than twenty-five thousands cases of enforced disappearances, while the other international rights organizations have also confirmed the cases of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and have accused Pakistani law-enforcement agencies. However, the Pakistan government officials deny the allegations.

Only in November this year, 36 cases of enforced disappearances have been reported from different parts of Balochistan.

According to organizations working on enforced disappearances in Balochistan, forced disappearances have once again intensified, while incidents of killing of missing persons in fake encounters by security forces also continue.

Meanwhile, after a protest camp in Quetta against enforced disappearances in Balochistan, a protest camp has also been set up in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad by the families of missing persons who are demanding the recovery of their loved ones.
