Balochistan is witnessing an alarming surge in cancer cases, with three more individuals recently succumbing to the disease.

In the Kech district, two individuals, residents of Buleda and Nasirabad, lost their lives to blood cancer. Separately, in Chagai, Hafiz Al-Quran Fazl-ur-Rahman from the Lashkarap area passed away after a near two-year battle with the disease.

The chairman of the Ost Welfare Organization, Wafa Baloch, shed light on the concerning trend. “The number of cancer cases in the region seems to be increasing day by day,” he remarked. Baloch, spearheading the organization’s medical initiatives, made a public plea urging residents to avoid potential cancer-causing substances, including tobacco, gutka, and sheesha, amongst others.

Highlighting the need for a collective effort, Baloch reached out to prominent figures in business, politics, and social sectors, seeking support for the Ost Welfare Organization’s endeavors. Their mission is centered on aiding those cancer patients who are not only battling the disease but also grappling with financial hardships.

Local residents consistently highlight the absence of a dedicated cancer facility in Balochistan. Despite being rich in natural resources, the region struggles to provide specialized medical care to its populace.
