In Nik Shahr, Western (Iranian-administrated) Balochistan, a harrowing incident unfolded when a man opened fire in his own home, resulting in the deaths of his wife and her uncle, while two others were injured.
The incident appears to have been triggered by familial issues and sheds light on the dark reality of domestic violence that had plagued the couple’s relationship. The identities of the deceased are Ruqaiyya and Haidar Balochi, while the injured victims were identified as Inrahim Balochi and an unidentified person.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the husband had a history of domestic abuse towards his wife, Ruqaiyya. Tragically, the abuse took an even deadlier turn as he resorted to using a firearm, claiming the lives of both Ruqaiyya and her uncle, Haidar Baloch. In a separate incident in Sarawan, another man, Abdul Basit Ghaffari from Seeb Sooran, lost his life when unidentified gunmen opened fire. The motives behind this shooting also remain unclear, leaving the community in fear and uncertainty.
Adding to the chain of tragedies, a devastating car crash in Sarawan claimed the lives of two individuals. The incident occurred when a petrol trade car overturned and caught fire, resulting in the fatalities of Yahya Bamari, the son of Khalik Daad, and Mohd Saleem Hussainzai. The circumstances leading to the accident are yet to be fully investigated, further deepening the sorrow felt by their loved ones.
