The recent scripted interview given by state authorities in Pakistan to justify the abduction and torture of Mahal Baloch is a shocking example of state-sponsored violence and oppression. No matter how well-scripted or fabricated the story may be, it can never justify the inhumane torture and mistreatment of innocent citizens.
As a journalist, it is important to shed light on the reality of the situation, rather than playing into the hands of state authorities and promoting their propaganda. It is clear that the fabricated story and unending lies were created to justify the abduction and torture of Mahal Baloch and thousands of other Baloch students and women.
A new front has been opened against educated Baloch women who resist state oppression. These women are being linked to armed organizations and subjected to bogus allegations solely to silence their voices and justify state-sponsored violence. This is a disturbing trend that must be addressed.
The fact that Mahal Baloch was presented in the media with bogus allegations only serves to further demonstrate the cowardice and desperation of state authorities. General Ghafoor may think he can punish people with such harsh measures, but he fails to see the bigger picture of the damage it causes.
The dignity and rights of the Baloch nation must be protected, and the physical and mental torture of Mahal Baloch and other Baloch citizens by Pakistani forces must not go unnoticed or unpunished. The picture of Mahal Baloch, a domestic Baloch woman, imprisoned in the custody of state authorities, is a clear depiction of the reality faced by many people who are being unjustly punished and oppressed.
The silence of Mahal Baloch speaks volumes about the atrocities being committed by state institutions in Pakistan. It is a reminder that many people who speak out against state oppression are forced into silence or disappear altogether.
It is essential to recognize that the atrocities committed by state institutions against their own citizens can never be justified by a fabricated story or scripted interview. As journalists and responsible citizens, we must stand up against such violations of human rights and demand accountability from those in power. The dignity and rights of the Baloch nation must be protected, and their voices must be heard.
