Unidentified men kidnapped two persons including a senior Pakistani army officer, in the Ziarat area of ​​Balochistan, on Tuesday night.

According to reports, A senior Pakistani military officer, identified as Lt Colonel Laeeq, was kidnapped along with his driver by unknown armed men from Warchom area of Ziarat.

As per Levies sources, the army officer along with his family, were visiting Ziarat from Karachi on the eve of Eid ul Azha. The kidnappers left the family and took the officer and his driver with them.

A Levies spokesman said that a search operation was underway for the recovery of the abductees. Meanwhile, the local sources said that several Pakistani helicopters are carrying out a search operation in Warchom and adjoining areas since last night.

The motive of the incident is yet to be ascertained.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Quddus Bizenjo took notice of the incident and directed the local administration to ensure the recovery of the senior army officer. CM Balochistan has also directed the administration to submit a report regarding the incident.

the Balochistan Senior Minister,  Noor Muhammad Dumar has also condemned the incident and termed it a conspiracy against the peace of the region. “The government is utilising all resources to make sure the unhurt and immediate recovery of the abductees,” he stated.
