New Chief Minister of Balochistan, Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has formed a committee to hold negotiations with protesting Young Doctors Association (YDA).

According to an official handout: “The four-member committee would hold negotiations with protesting doctors”.

According to details, the committee comprises former finance ministers, Mir Zahoor Buledi, Mir Naseebullah Marri, Asghar Tareen, and Malik Naseer Ahmed Shahwani. The committee would meet YDA office-bearers to bring an end to the ongoing strike in government-run hospitals.

Mr. Bizenjo has directed the committee to submit a report about the doctors’ protest within three days. Secretary Specialised Health, Noor Ul Haq Baloch, and Secretary Secondary Health, Aziz Ahmed Jamali will assist the committee regarding the solutions to issues faced by health professionals.

It is to mention that YDA has been observing a boycott of OPDs in Balochistan, for more than a month to press the government for accepting their demands.

Patients have suffered badly due to the ongoing boycott of OPDs. Thousands of patients are deprived of medical treatment at civil hospital and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, in Quetta.
