The BNP leader Haji Lashkari Raisani demanded a judicial inquiry into the former Governor’s allegations regarding SBK Women University.

Haji Lashkari Raisani on Tuesday in a press statement said, “there has to be an immediate judicial inquiry into former Chancellor’s statement.”

Mr. Raisani said the former Governor is a respected person and his revelations must be fairly and independently probed. “We cannot make any compromise over our honour”, he added.

Earlier on Sunday, Former Governor Balochistan Justice (R) Amanullah Khan Yaseenzai levelled allegations against the governor Syed Zahoor Agha and deputy speaker national assembly Qasim Sori. Yaseenzai accused Sori of defending and demanding the extension of an accused, who was involved in harassment cases in Sardar Bahadur Khan(SBK) Women University.

“Governor Agha is a rubber stamp, actually Sori is running the affairs”, former Governor told a private TV channel, in an interview. Deputy Speaker Qasim Sori is making all important decisions regarding universities and Governor continues to toe his line, Mr Yaseenzai said.

“I refused to give an extension to an accused involved in harassment cases in women university”, Yaseenzai said. He also claimed that he was threatened by an MNA of the ruling party Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI), of removing me from his seat.

A day after the former governor’s interview, the former Public Relations Officer (PRO)of the SBK University, Akram Tareen strongly contradicted Yaseenzai’s allegations in a news conference at Quetta Press Club.

Tareen questioned the silence of Mr. Yaseenzai when he was governor Balochistan. “I will legally and tribally defend myself if the former Governor did not stop the process of allegations”, he warned.

Mr. Tareen in response to a question said, ”I have all the evidence against the former Governor regarding his involvement in illegal steps and violations of merit”.

Lashkari Raisani’s statement comes after the aforementioned allegations on the both sides. The BNP leader urged the political parties, civil society to evolve an effective strategy to counter such kinds of conspiracies. This is actually an attack on the educational institutions of Balochistan, he said. Raisani concluded reiterating the demand for taking action against those involved in harassment cases at SBK.
