Sources told TBP that Pakistani forces arrested three persons named Kairo son of Shah Mir Marri, Deenli son of Shah Mir Murri and Baghli s/o Kesho Murri during an operation in Geshtrani area of Kahan on February 23 and transferred them to an unknown location. Gul Bahar, a resident of Kahan and his son Angli were reportedly detained by Pakistani intelligence and security forces in Sibi. Their whereabouts are unknown since.

According to reports, the missing Kairo Murri’s house was also set ablaze by the army personnel. The number of people who went missing after the arrest are said to be high but their identities have not been ascertained yet.

Whereas, a military operation has also been launched in Bambor, in which spy planes including gunship helicopters are taking part.

It is to mention that due to the communication shutdown in the area timely news access is not possible.

According to eyewitnesses, military helicopters have landed at various places in the area while gunship helicopters have been seen shelling. Authorities have not yet released any details about the operation.

In recent days, there have been reports from credible sources that Pakistan’s top military establishment has decided to launch a large-scale military operation in different parts of Balochistan. The decision to launch the operation came after a series of attacks by Baloch insurgents on the CPEC route and the recent massive attacks on Pakistani forces in and around Bolan region of Balochistan.

In the recent attacks, a prominent armed insurgent group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) inflicted heavy casualties and captured several posts of the Pakistan Army.

In another news, on Thursday, BLA claimed responsibility of multiple attacks in Khuzdar, Quetta and Kalat districts of Balochistan. As per the group’s press release to the media, “the freedom fighters of Baloch Liberation Army targeted employees of an exploitative company working on China Pakistan Economic Corridor. The vehicle of this company was targeted with an IED when it was travelling with a convoy of Pakistani military. At least four employees of the exploitative company and two personnel of Pakistani military were injured in today’s attack.”

The aforementioned company is working on projects related to the China’s multibillion project China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Khuzdar. BLA in its statement warned all such companies to refrain from being part of “occupier’s exploitative” projects in Balochistan. It said that these projects are used to exploit Baloch resources and further “oppress” the Baloch nation.

BLA also accepted responsibility for hand grenade attacks in Quetta and Kalat districts.

“On 23rd February BLA freedom fighters targeted undercover agents of Pakistani intelligence agencies in Quetta. Under the disguise of hairdressers these state agents were working to collect intelligence and provide a base for other agents,” statement read.

The BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that on 20th February in Kalat, BLA freedom fighters targeted Naseebullah Zehri, an agent of Pakistani Military Intelligence.

According to reports across Balochistan, an increase and intensity has been witnessed in recent attacks of insurgent groups.
