Police has launched FIR against student protesters of Sindh University, under terrorism act.

According to details received by TBP, students protested over water and other demands for the Boys Hostel at Sindh University Jamshoro on Monday night. First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against dozens of students for chanting anti-Pakistan slogans and other motives.

FIR has nominated 17 students, including Faraz Chouleani, Rashid Zardari, Salamat Zanoor, Nadir Lakheer, Amir Shah and Ansar Bardo.

It is to be noted that like every year, the annual Sindhi cultural festival’s preparations have been started by students of Sindh University. Regarding to that, some political groups in Sindh are concerned that the state institutions are scared of these programs due to which they are filing such cases.

It is pertinent to mention here, an event of Baloch Cultural Day was attacked by hand grenade bombs at Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Khuzdar city in 2010.

Baloch students and political organizations also claimed the involvement of Pakistani secret services in the incident.

The World Sindhi Congress (WSC) said in a statement comes after the FIR reports, that the FIR against the students of Sindh University is the worst act of harassment, which is strongly condemned. “Strong condemnation and resistance is needed to counter the state terrorism”, it said.
