A political organisation in Balochistan has alleged that Pakistani forces have attempted to sexually molest a woman in Kolwah, Awaran. The central spokesman of Baloch National Movement (BNM) has said in a statement that the incident happened last night in Kolwah, where military operation has continued for four consecutive days.
BNM spokesman said that various other families have completely been besieged with no food, water or shelter. There is increasing fear amongst the locals that scores have already been killed or injured due to continuous shelling by gunship helicopters.
Pakistani forces had brought two dead bodies to Awaran hospital two days ago. The deceased, which Pakistani forces say were killed in the operation, were identified as Abdul Ghani and Abdul Ghafoor. The site of military operation has since been cordoned off making it impossible to ascertain the true number of casualties.
The BNM spokesman said: ‘causalities can increase even further if Pakistani forces continue to deprive locals of medical attention and food.’
He added that Pakistan army is repeating the crimes in Balochistan it had committed in Bangladesh by abducting, torturing, killing and raping women. In recent months dozens of Baloch women have been abducted along with children from different parts of Balochistan by security forces.
The BNM spokesman urged International community to come to the rescue of defenceless Baloch women.
Lateef Johar Baloch, a leader of Baloch Students Organisation-Azad, who originally hails from the area, has tweeted about ongoing military offensives in his hometown; “Kolwah is under siege for last many days, dozens of casualties reported, communication system is jammed, We are concerned about well-being of loved ones”.
